Before becoming a Benedictine monk in Melk abbey and committing to God and the religious community by taking the eternal vows, a path of reflection, introspection, and resolve is essential. Being a monk is not an occupation, but a vocation, a calling to a very specific way of life. Therefore, firsthand experience of the rhythm of life in a monastery should be the initial part of this path.
