The Benedictine monastery with its unique Baroque architecture combined with contemporary highlights can be visited year-round. Because of its close proximity to the highway A1 it is a perfect destination for bus trips.
As part of UNESCO’s world cultural heritage the abbey is a must see site for day trips and/or longer journeys.
A visit of the monastery (with an entrance ticket) includes the Imperial Staircase, the Imperial Corridor, the abbey museum, the Marble Hall, the balcony, the library and the abbey church; the abbey park with its Baroque pavilion and many other accents (April to October); the Northern Bastion with the Wachau Lab and a panoramic terrace as well as changing special exhibitions. At an extra charge guests can also visit the mineral collection.
