We are pleased to welcome your guests in Melk Abbey. Because of changing government regulations a visit is possible only without guide.
Visit without guided tour / daily
A visit of the interior rooms is also possible without a guided tour. Guests can individually visit the museum rooms, the Marble Hall, the balcony, the library and the church.
Price for groups under 20 persons: € 12.50 admission per person
Price for groups of 20 or more persons: € 12.00 admission per person
Persons who are not members of the same household have to respect a minimum distance of 1 m / 3.3 ft between each other. Guests need to wear their own visors or protective masks which cover the mouth and the nose.
Please tell us the exact number of guests at least 72 hours before the start of the guided tour. The cancellation of a guided tour is possible free of charge until 72 hours before the reserved time. Later, a cancellation fee of € 50.00 is charged.

The abbey ticket includes the visit of the abbey park (May - Oct.) with its Baroque pavilion, the Northern Bastion where guests find a special exhibition, a panoramic terrace and a spacious gift shop, as well as the visit of the special exhibitions in the Columned Hall and the Small Baroque Cellar.

As of 1st Oct - 1st Nov. 2020 9.30 am – 4.30 pm (last admission at 4.00 pm)
As of November 2, 2020 (until further notice)
11.00 am – 12.30 pm (admission until 12.00 pm)
1.30 pm – 3.00 pm (admission until 2.30 pm)
Opening hours | Abbey park:
daily between 10.00 am and 6.00 pm - (as of 25th Oct 10.00 am - 5.00 pm)
Northern Bastion incl. gift shop: daily between 10.00 am and 5.30 pm (as of 25th Oct 10.00 am - 5.00 pm)
Special exhibitions in the Columned Hall and the Small Baroque Cellar:
daily between 9.30 am and 5.00 pm
Additional important information:
Due to worship services, events or inclement weather visitor areas may be partially closed and/or the visit may only be possible to a limited extent.
In case of default or impossibility of the service due to force majeure (security or health risk) or reasons which are not within of Melk abbey’s sphere of influence, Melk abbey cannot be held liable.
As soon as government regulations allow different measures, the course of the guided tour and the maximum number of guests will be adapted accordingly.
