We are pleased that as of 1st July 2020 we may welcome your guests again to a guided tour in Melk Abbey.
For the time being, in keeping with current government regulations and spatial limitations, it will not be possible to maintain the usual course of the guided tours for groups.
Persons who are not members of the same household have to respect a minimum distance of 1 m / 3.3 ft between each other. Guests need to wear their own visors or protective masks which cover the mouth and the nose.

Guided tours for a maximum of 10 pax/group
Tour “From Yesterday to Today” incl. museum rooms
Duration: about 1 hour
The guided tour includes the visit of the Prelate’s Courtyard, the museum in the former Imperial Rooms, the Marble Hall, the balcony and the library. The church is the end of the tour and can be visited without a guide as before.
Group of less than 20 persons:
€ 12.50 per person (for the entrance) plus € 60.00 per needed guide
Group of 20 or more persons:
€ 12.00 per person (for the entrance) plus € 60.00 per needed guide
Please tell us the exact number of guests at least 72 hours before the start of the guided tour. The cancellation of a guided tour is possible free of charge until 72 hours before the reserved time. Later, a cancellation fee of € 50.00 is charged.

The abbey ticket includes the visit of the abbey park (May - Oct. open 10.00 am – 6.00 pm) with its Baroque pavilion, the Northern Bastion where guests find a special exhibition, a panoramic terrace and a spacious gift shop, as well as the visit of the special exhibitions in the Columned Hall and the Small Baroque Cellar.
As of 25th July daily between 9.30 am and 4.30 pm (last possible start of a guided tour)

Abbey park: daily between 10.00 am and 6.00 pm
Northern Bastion incl. gift shop: daily between 10.00 am and 5.30 pm
Special exhibitions in the Columned Hall and the Small Baroque Cellar:
daily between 9.30 am and 5.00 pm
Additional important information:
Due to worship services, events or inclement weather visitor areas may be partially closed and/or the visit may only be possible to a limited extent.
In case of default or impossibility of the service due to force majeure (security or health risk) or reasons which are not within of Melk abbey’s sphere of influence, Melk abbey cannot be held liable.
As soon as government regulations allow different measures, the course of the guided tour and the maximum number of guests will be adapted accordingly.
